Adalta Race Team (Men)

For 2016 Adalta introduced the formation of the Adalta Race Team in Kent comprising of category 2 and above riders. 

With a new Race team kit the names of the principal sponsors, Herberts Cycles in Whitstable (www.herbertscycles.co.uk) and Burgess Hodgson Accountants Canterbury (www.burgesshodgson.co.uk) who have funded the Team take centre stage on the new design.

Heading into their second season the team comprises of 10 members, led by Wayne Beba with Rod Archibald as Vice Captain.

Other members are Stuart Baldwin, Jeremy Brougham, Ross Bryan, Ciaron O'Grady, Jason Oram, Josh Wakeling and Keith Watson. 

Wayne Beba is the Teams 1st Cat rider, with other members holding 2nd cat licences.  Wayne has already had numerous wins and podium finishes, taking some impressive victories. Wayne commented, "My personal highlight was taking 3 wins in 6 days at the beginning of May, my training was scheduled to peak by then so it was nice to see it pay off.  My highlight with the team was the Tour of Sussex. It was a great few days where the team really bonded and brought home some great results"  

The Tour of Sussex was a highlight for everyone in the team.  Rod Archibald was in agreement stating, "Coming 4th in the TTT at the Tour of Susses was a great result and working together to help Josh to 2nd overall was a great achievement" Rod secured 3 top ten places in Regional A road races in 2016 and is training hard to be in the mix at that level again.  

Keith Watson has put in strong performances to secure his licence with winning breakaway rides at Cyclopark in 2016, showing his strength in endurance.

Josh Wakeling had some superb attacking breakaway wins on the road in 2016 culminating in finishing 2nd overall at the Tour of Sussex in the summer.

Ross Bryan is looking ahead to another varied season of racing with Adalta, "There were some great races last season with the team.  The SP Cycles Crit at Fowlmead was really fun, fast and technical.  I also enjoyed the London Nocturne, an awesome atmosphere and a great day out!"  Ross picked the Tour of Sussex as another season highlight, "A great 3 days of racing at a well organised event. I especially enjoyed the final stage on Beachy Head and being able to help get Josh on the podium" 

Stuart Baldwin enters his second season with Adalta. With a few years race experience Stuart has proved to be a great domestique for the team as well as getting himself some top 10 places along the way.  "It was a great season for me to be able to really push myself and work to my strengths to assist my team mates.  In 2017 I hope to continue my role and to bag some good results along the way" 

Jeremy Brougham joins us for 2017 and will be racing in the Masters and Veterans races alongside Wayne Beba.  Jeremy secured a National Championship on the track in 2016.

Jason Oram and Ciaran O' Grady complete the race team line up. Jason will be racing on the road and Ciaran has a strong TT ability and road race presence to bring to the team.

The Riders will be competing across the South in Road Race Events including SERRL, Surrey league and are lined up to return to the Tour of Sussex as part of a busy season of racing!
